According to the GATVU report at the end of the war (see here for a transcript) most Lend Lease cross country vehicles were given to the Artillery and Armoured troops to pull guns or AT guns right behind the advancing troops. The humble Ford 6 was the vehicle most commonly seen in Rifle Divisions and Rear units with 61,000 being delivered during the war. Many Lend Lease vehicles were delivered in kit form and were assembled in Soviet factories.
